About the artist

Welcome to our website featuring the works of  Michelle Peerson. Using fabric and other related fibers, Michelle designs lovely art quilts.
She has been designing art with fibers for many years. Initially her works were off loom weavings constructed of hand dyed hemp.  She created works on
her 54" floor loom designed by Thomas Broadbent and began to integrate hand spun and hand dyed wools.  In 1994 she started to work with cotton fabrics and has maintained that medium to date. You will find her works to be original, diverse and innovative.
Michelle exhibits worldwide, however, the majority of her exhibits are in California where she resides. She teaches and has designed several quilt patterns. Her work continues to evolve. Michelle is mainly influenced by the scenery around her. As an avid world traveller, her designs are often influenced by many of the beautiful places she has visited. She is in the process of creating a lecture series called "When Life Gives You Scraps, Make Quilts". Enjoy her work and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
